Final Concept

Proposal.

My Concept
My concept has been derived from the notion of contrast. My concept looks at the racist culture of some Australians, specifically targeted hate and discrimination towards refugee people. I believe that these people fail to grasp an understanding of reasoning that this desperate people have that makes them leave their home and their lives behind even if it is risking their lives.
My intention through my artwork is to give people some more insight into these people lives so that people will step back and think logically about this issue. I wish to illustrate that Australia has some of the lowest influx of refugees in the developed world and that we should help out these people if they are genuinely seeking alyssum.

Processes I am going to use
Through my works I want to address the notion of desperation so I am going to create my works in a really raw theme. I am going to use ply board and spray paint among digital typography collage. I want the artwork to have a real street feel to it but pop. I will use bright colours to make an interesting piece with typography contradicting the paint to evoke interest and deeper meaning to the piece. I want people to read deeper into the artwork and feel that this issue isn’t all bright colours and happy things as these people are desperate. I want to incorporate little illustrations in the bottom corner of a refugee that will not be noticed at first to show how some people put such low significance on their lives.
